Americans in for the Sunshine.
Ausdeck Patio’s Archerfield Speedway Promoter John Kelly confirmed today 5 American drivers will take the green during the Sunshine Swing segment of QSS World Series Sprintcars commencing January 3.
Speedway’s best kept secret being the return of 10 times Knoxville Nationals winner Donny Schatz to the home of the Performance Wholesale Australian Sprintcar Open.
Joining Schatz will be QSS/WSS contracted drivers Carson Macedo and Dominic Scelzi plus Logan Schuchart and Lucas Wolfe.
The ‘Open’ becoming an event targeted by international stars as a ‘must do’ considering its rich 22 year history and the domination of the event by Schatz.
Kelly is proud the event is sought after. “We have offered good prizemoney, provided consistency in the administration of the event and prepared a racetrack that has provided a great racing Spectacle,” Kelly said.” The 50 lap A-Mains over the past 2 years have raced green to Chequer without a stoppage.”
Schuhart returns to race for the John Weatherall Motorguard Team with Wolfe joining the Bruce and Linda Ayers #1Z.
With 16 QSSWSS contracted drivers including home grown Kevin Titman and Lockie McHugh plus Queensland Sprintcar Association Champion Luke Oldfield, Andrew Scheuerle, Peter Lack, Brent Kratzman, Mitchell Gee and last start winner Allan Woods to name a few of the casual nominations expected, The Sunshine Swing for World Series Sprintcars is expected to provide a feast of Sprintcar action at its best for the Queensland and Northern NSW Speedway fan.
