McFadden’s luck deserts the Aussie in Ohio

McFadden ready againJames McFadden has just completed the first of his two events in his US tour with the Joe Gaerte Engines 3G.Luck certainly deserted the Australian gun.First up the 3G trucked into Atticia Raceway Park to face field full of top guns from the All Star regulars. The Ohio based group is among the toughest racing the circuits anywhere in the US.

McFadden was joined in the race by two other Australians, Stuart Williams’s #46AU and Sean Zemunik #27Z.McFadden started well with a strong heat win and secured his start in the A Main. The field was stacked with class headed by the low rider Dale Blaney and Rico Abreu. This was tough company first up and McFadden should not be disappointed with his effort even though he failed to finish.McFadden hauler

Right from the start McFadden was in the thick of the battle. McFadden and the fifth starting Brady Bacon were swapping places. McFadden was currently in P3 and would soon have the low rider throwing sliders at him. There was some hard racing between the two, trading sliders until contact was made that forced Blaney back into the field and ended with McFadden going off track and causing a race caution .McFadden race was done and he would DNF but Blaney would return in 10th and work past the entire field to record his 130th career ASCoC and 18th Attica win.

After the race Blaney apologized to McFadden .Dale Blaney “That was a hell of a win, hell of a race. Apologize to James for getting into him. We were racing hard. 1st I’ve gotten better in awhile”DB

McFadden gave as well as he received and as we have come to expect from McFadden he traded slider for slider with the all time ASCoC winner.McFadden and Joe Gaerte might have been a little down as they packed but with an ounce of luck it could have been Blamey’s bad luck but they have over night to regroup as they head to Fremont to compete with the Fast 410 Series.Dale Blaney
