Zach was transported to hospital for observation and early this morning the report was that he had suffered a Brocken collarbone and serious concussion. The hospital reported he was doing ok and would remain in hospital for observation. It is hoped that Zach will be released sometime later today, Sunday assuming he continues to recover.
Young Manders was checked out by the paramedics and cleared. The crash has left the youngster shaken but thankfully injury free.
Zach’s car owners Steven and Barry Graham have hosted Daum at their Southern Highlands property during his visit and continue to be by his side during this period of recovery.
A decision on when and if the NSW Speedcar Club’s 50 lapper will be rerun will made at a meeting Monday night.
Kiwi visitor Michael Pickens had a mixed night right from his first heat .Charging into second the #71 blew an o ring and the Kiwi would fail to finish. A win in his second heat was no enough to gain Pickens entry into the A main. During the B, Pickens turned the #71 around and was forced to go ROF with just 5 laps to run .The restart and local race fans were witnessed to the raw talent of the Kiwi Champ as he charge back through the 15 car B main to grab a transfer into the A main .An amazing recovery .

The Pickens team needed to work hard to get the Morris owned racecar ready for the A main where the Kiwi would start from position 23
Disappointed as race fans were the racing up to the accident and the rain was just “unreal “ .Some of the best midget racing or for that fact any racing you would want to see .
