After the his success in Tasmania and the Australia one on his tail New Australian Champion David Murcott heads to Speedway City for round 9 of World Series Sprintcars. The Speedway City event will again this year have the added prestige of the George Tatnell Cup being incorporated in the race.

Murcott a past winner of the George Tatnell Cup carries race winning form into the race and will be one of the fancied runners among the field of 32 Sprintcars .

While the World Series points will be important to the drivers  the memories of the greatness that was George Tatnell and the sight of having the George Tatnell Cup in their Trophy Cupboard , a massive incentive .

George Tatnell , stock Car driver ,Super Modified ,Sprintcar Champion and three times Australian Speedcar Champion . George Tatnell one of Speedways great personalities and the World Series Sprintcar round 9 is a fitting memory to his amazing life and his support of Speedway in Australia

Brooke Tatnell, the 5 times Australian Champion and 8 times World Series winner will be having his first chance at winning the Cup that honors the memory of his father.

Former Australian Champion James McFadden leads Luke Dillon by 95 points with Lines and Tatnell close enough to threaten McFadden and Dillon for the series lead.

 The George Tatnell Cup will be the first outing for Murcott carrying the number one and he will be keen to impress.  In an interview with Speedway Australia Murcott had this say ““It was great to finally get the win after knocking on the door for so long and it was a great reward for Horrell Motorsport,” stated Murcott.

“Our focus will now be on the George Tatnell race. We were lucky enough to win the first one and we have won a lot of big races in Adelaide so we are looking forward to getting back there.”
