56 of the best Sprintcar drivers are arriving in Avalon to compete in the Essendon Ford President Cup over 25 laps. This will be the 32nd running of this event and together with past winners Brooke Tatnell, Robbie Farr, David Murcott and Bell burning up the track will be 15 of the best from America.

The last American winner of the Presidents cup was way back in 2006 and the Aussie boys will need to be on their best to prevent the Cup leaving our shores.

Fresh from back to back wins in Sydney is Jason Sides and he will need to produce his Sydney form to keep Shane Stewart, Daryn Pitman ,Tim Kaeding away from the $10,000 prize.

With little rest after his amazing fourth straight Chili Bowl success Kevin Swindell will be behind the wheel of the second Essendon Ford supported sprintcar and he will be full of confidence as he takes to the Avalon track.

Swindell’s  travellng  partner Rico Abreu won’t be far off the action and it would be a brave man to discount Trevor Green and Steven Lines, both always ready to surprise

The racing last weekend in Sydney was red hot just like the temperature and fans at Avalon can expect these super stars of Sprintcar racing to put on a huge show .

Public gates are set to open from 3:30pm this Wednesday night with racing set to start from the slightly earlier time than usual of 6:30pm.
