Lines winner – WSS Albany

Lines winner WSS Albany

Albany Speedway last night, Warnambool’s Steven Lines laid down his battle plans for the WSS Title with a somewhat lucky win in round 8 of the Championship.

Spectators, particularly the McFadden fans will feel sorry for the Monte Motorsports driver who was so dominating throughout the night only to come undone late in the race when he hit a mid-track rut and rolled. His hard work was going to earn the team no rewards except a further loss of points as they chase after points leader Kerry Madsen and the Krikke Team.

Kerry Madsen  appeared to have no answers  as he chased after McFadden  .After McFadden’s demise Madsen inherited the race lead and at that point the Krikke fans could be forgiven if they figured their man had the race won and would extend his championship lead .Starting position one after McFadden’s demise W2 quickly established a lead over Lines but as it was with McFadden a small mistake from Madsen with 7 laps remaining gave Lines the opportunity to force his authority over W2 and win the race lead .Prior to passing Madsen Lines did not seem to have the speed to run down the Krikke Driver but once in the race lead the Horrell motorsports entry had a bounce in performance and raced away from  Madsen to record the win , Madsen finished second and Darren Mollenoyux third. The unavailability of Brooke Tatnell saw mollenoyux get the late call up to drive the Diamond Bay Motorsports entry.

Disappointment for McFadden and Madsen  , applause for Lines’s as his win puts him and his new Team in a very strong position as he chases his second career WSS Championship Tile since his win back in 2013/14

As the WSS Teams head back to Perth Lines has a slender 7 points lead over Madsen with McFadden 230 points behind Madsen
