Mixed results for the US Raiders!

The day after Christmas, Boxing Day is when Australian relax in front of the Television, it’s tradition to watch the start of the Sydney to Hobart Ocean Yacht Classic and then the start of the Boxing Day Cricket Test Match. With beer and chips in hand we settle in for the day but very much aware that Speedway will fires up in the cool of the evening across Australia with the appearances of many of the top US professionals.

Australian’s welcomes the US raiders, drivers from across the US team up with their Aussie Teams in an assault on our Major races across our wide drought and fire affected Nation.

The Americans had mixed results last night headed by wins in Sydney to Brad Sweet the current World of Outlaw Champion and in Brisbane where Donny Schatz continues to rule .The first round of the 2019/20 World Series down at Murray Bridge in South Australia was won by local Luke Dillon with US based Aussie Kerry Madsen second and Corey Eliason US third  .

While over in Perth Local Daniel Harding beat Shane Stewart home while fellow tourists Harli White 4th and Bud Keating failed to finish. The top five finishes in the major races last night were:

Valvoline Raceway: Brad Sweet (US), Jamie Veal, Marcus Dumseny, Carson Macedo (US) Ben Atkinson .US based Aussie Ian Madsen finished in 10th

Perth Motorplex:    Daniel Harding, Shane Stewart (US), Jamie Oldfield, Harli White (US), Jason Kendrick

Brisbane: Donny Schatz (US), Luke Oldfield, Andrew Scheuerle, Cullum Walker, Kevin Titman

Murray Bridge World Series Sprintcars Round 1/

Luke Dillon, Kerry Madsen (US Based Australian), Corey Eason (US), Rusty Hickman Steven Lines James McFadden finished in 6thwhike Brooke Tatnell cut a tire and failed to finish while running strongly.

No matter where you live you just have to find your way to a Speedway and cheer on our locals as they face off with the US Raiders .The weather might be hot but I can guarantee the racing will be hotter!
