Valvoline Raceway the Speedway by the Freeway

Sydney Speedway CEO Mike Raymond announced today that the Speedway known for many years as the Parramatta Speedway will from today change its name to the Valvoline Raceway –The Speedway by the Freeway.Print

In announcing the news Raymond starts a new era at the Speedway when Valvoline for many years a valuable race sponsor will take over the naming rights.

For many years Max Dumesny has carried the Valvoline colors proudly from his early days of racing at the Calder Park Thunderdome and on his Sprint Cars and the match as naming rights Sponsor is a perfect fit for Valvolin and the Speedway.

The Valvoline connection with Speedway starts way back in the day of “lead foot” Len Brock during those mighty days at the Sydney Showground Speedway.

The announcement was made in the presence of Mr. Tony McDermott Valvoline’s General Manager Marketing and Mr. Stuart Gagg, Manager NSW and ACT.

With new track signage and the Max Dunesby Sprinter displayed on top of a container viewed from the freeway the Valvoline Raceway message is clear. Speedway at its best will be on display starting this Saturday night October 5.

After the announcement Speedway CEO Raymond stated ““The circuit has a long and proud history and has played host to the world’s best drivers and that tradition will continue,” said Mike.

“I approached Stuart Gagg a few months ago and he and Tony liked the proposal,”

“I only wanted Valvoline as our naming rights sponsor because I believe it represents a perfect fit with our exciting brand of racing” he concluded.

Valvoline Raceway , the Speedway by the Freeway will celebrates the commencement of the new season on Saturday night at 7.00 p.m.

International sprintcars, late models, lively Legends, AMCAs, the WSFM Fireworks Spectacular and a 40 car Demolition Derby will be featured on the huge programme.
