Waldron takes over lease at Toowoomba Speedowl
Barry Waldron owner of Sprintcar Team East Coast Pipelines announced today that his promotion Company Too Go Pty Ltd had purchased the lease to run the Toowoomba Speedbowl from former promoter Allan Wood.
This purchase by Waldron comes after his successful purchase of the valvoline Raceway in Sydney last August. Under the Waldron and Steve Green management Valvoline has seen changes to track amentias and programming that has strengthen the Sport at the only Metropolitan Speedway.

The Waldron influence will be immediate at Toowoomba and will ensure the long term future of the sport in regional Queensland.Current promoter Woods will stay on to manage the change over in the short term before moving on to concentrate on his other business activities . A General Manager to run the Bowl is expected to be appointed shortly. All track maintenance equipment was included in the purchase and many of the current track staff will continue under the Waldron purchase plans.
With Valvoine Raceway as their big brother exchanges of information and promotional assistance will push the Speedway brand to a wider audience.

Speaking in Sydney Valvoline’s Managing Direct Steve Green had this to say,
“There are many reasons why the time is right for us to bring Toowoomba into our Speedway family,” explains VR Managing Director Steve Green, “and it begins with the basic premise that we’d like to lift the profile and the standard of the sport in that region. We have exciting plans for the 2015/2016 season in Sydney and several of those plans can also include Toowoomba, which opens up a number of doors for us in different sectors of our business. The Toowoomba region is considered a home base for VR owners Barry and Felicity Waldron as well so there’s an emotional connection to the expansion.”
The synergies to be gained by this new partnership between Barry Waldron’s Too Go Pty Ltd and the Downs Speedway Club will benefits race fans, race teams, the opportunities are endless.
