CHICO, Calif. — Sept. 5, 2014 The Donny Schatz domination of recent Outlaw a Mains was halted first by Shane Stewart at Willamette and then Pittman at Southern Oregon. Enter the guys from California at the Gold Cup event at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Night one of the Gold Cup and Pittman makes a solid start in his efforts to pull back points from Schatz when he puts down the quick time and Schatz only manages to time in 6th position., A strong win in the dash gives Pittman the early advantage he has been looking for and get the pole spot for the 30 lap A Main.

Pittman gets out of the start fast and leads the A main for the first 7 laps before the young Californian smoked past the defending Champion. The locals were on their feet but few would have expected the young charger to withstand a race long challenge from Pittman. As the race moved into the final stages it was becoming clear that Macedon’s first Outlaw win was closing in. Nine laps out from the finish, a late caution gives Pittman chance. The restart, Pittman sees his chance and gets around the young Californian but THEN a red comes out after the start when teammate Sweet, McMahan and Gregg get together.

The restart and Macedo covers Pittman and continues to lead until the last caution with 5 to go .The win was in sight, just the restart to control and he closes Pittman out of the race and his first career World of Outlaws win is in the bag.
