Jason Sides wins night two WSS

Touring American World of Outlaw stars continued their domination at Sydney Speedway with Jason Sides grabbing back to back wins in similar situations to his win last night over compatriot Jason Johnson. The racing moved onto the track late due to the poor track conditions and the mud covered wheel packing machines , looking like something from a Mad Max production were joined by the Sprintcar teams in the wheel packing exercise . The racing was delayed for two hours before a superb track was delivered.

Cooler conditions were welcomed by the race fans and more importantly by our brave fire fighter working across our beautiful country.

Joey Saldana had rotten luck after setting fast time in his initial hot laps he lost a motor and his tour would end with the cancellation of the C main due to time curfews. National Champion Mc Fadden would also have a night he will want to forget, oil fire in his hot laps and plenty of race damage thought the night.

Robbie Farr had plenty to make up after night one and early in the heats he looked a huge threat but faded.

Sides and Johnson from the front lead away, Johnson taking the early lead and holding it until lap 16 when Sides made his race wining move. Sides moved up on Johnson and found the cushion on turn one and drove at pace around Johnson. With sixteen to go it was Sides to lose, he settled down and ran fast using the entire track to maintain his lead. Back in the pack Shane Stewart, Brooke Tatnell and Daryn Pitman were staging a titanic battle and at the end it would see Pitman following Jason Johnson into third.

Another American podium .Steve Brazier driving the Rocket Industries Car was the first Australian home and his effort after what started out as very ordinary was superb. Brazier won the B Main and transferred into position 15 for the A main and raced very cleverly to come home in 5th.

Hirst, Tatnell, Roddy Bellbowen, Kaeding and Farr completed the top 10.

Sitting at various points around the speedway it was great to see the enjoyment of the fans, many for the second night straight. Yes, disappointment with the curfew and the cancellation of the Lighting Sprints main, Sprintcar C main and the top eight shoot out

What a thrill to see Shane Stewart driving and winning from the back in his Lighting Sprint heat.
