Madson’s Valvoline Sprint Car Grand Prix

Boxing day traditionally starts the big Sprint Car events and see the first American onslaught on our majors.

Add to the excitement the 33rd running of the Valvoline Grand Prix for Sprint Cars and the locals needed little encouragement . A big crowd would see a great race for the title between the Bellbowen boys who started from the front and would race each other for the lead for the first 25 laps .With a race track that was turning slick  and with Ian Madsen’s  car warming to the track  it was not long before  he was getting inside of Roddy Bellbowen down the back straight and into the lead .

Heading into turn one the younger Bellbowen , Toby was under his brother to run into second and share the podium with Madsen and Roddy . Ben Atkinson drove into fourth followed by Garry Brazier.

The rest of the top ten saw Matt Smith in sixth, Kody Kinser was the highest place American in seventh, Max Johnston, Warren Ferguson and Joey Saldana .

December 29 will see the Americans returning to compete in the NSW Sprint Car Championship and with one meting under their belts and feeling more comfortable with their equipment sparks are sure to fire . Supporting the Sprint Car will be a full program of Wingless Sprints, Street Stocks, AMCA Nationals, Monster Truck Rides
