Monday Speedway Memories from Sydney

MONDAY SPEEDWAY MEMORIES
Sydney Showground Saturday night September 25, 1965
Every Saturday night throughout the season the promoters tempted your appetite with mighty solo and Sidecar action before the Mighty Midgets hit the track for another of their cracking Feature races.
With the Speedway closed over the winter months tonight was just the tonic Speedway fans had been waiting for all through the Sydney Winter of 65
There was plenty of news to report on the opening night, the announcement of the CRAVEN FILTER 2,000 pounds, yes not dollars for the Drivers’ Championship for 1965-66. The series would run at all 5 of the major Tracks at that time, sadly all 5 have since closed.
