Making the A main after only a handful of 410 start USAC Midget campaigner  Tanner Thorson race the best of the Outlaws  at Chico and only failed to beat one home . Second to Schatz an amazing effort when you realize Tanner charged from position 13.
Thorson a Keith Kunz product certainly made a statement at Chico that will not go unnoticed .Tim Kaeding, Madsen and Schatz all had their chance but only Schatz could sustain his lead as rubber started to get laid.

Kerry Madsen raised the Australian flag over qualifying with fast time but it was Tim Kaeding who picked the pole for the dash .Donny Schatz won the dash that took pole for the A main ..
